ASUS sure knows how to make an entrance! A year removed from announcing their bestselling handset, the Zenfone 2, it’s bound to take over the market once again with the announcement of the Zenfone 3. Holding the announcement once again at Computex Taiwan, ASUS has announced the Zenfone 3 family, which includes the eponymous phone, a Deluxe variant, and an Ultra variant.
Zenfone 3
The leader of the pack—the Zenfone 3—features a new metal design that ASUS is calling the Invisible Antenna Design. Departing from its Intel roots, the ASUS Zenfone 3 carries the new Qualcomm 625 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, and front/rear 2.5D glass. It also comes equipped with a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture lens, 0.03s TriTech AF, 4-axis OIS, 3-axis EIS. The front camera shoots at 8 megapixels and f/2.0 wide-angle at 88 degrees. It is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. It will retail starting at $249, or approximately P11,000.
Zenfone 3 Deluxe
The Zenfone 3 Deluxe is the family’s beefier big brother. It is equipped with the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, a whopping 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. It sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a teensy 1.3mm bezel. It also carries a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 camera with 4K capabilities. Like the Zenfone 3, the Deluxe is now compatible with USB Type-C. It’s set to retail at $479 or approximately P23,000.
Zenfone 3 Ultra
The Deluxe may be beefy, but the Ultra is bigger than any Zenfone has dared to size up to. Sporting a 6.8-inch screen, the Ultra carries a 4K TV-grade image processor. It is powered by the Qualcomm 652 and carries 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It has the same 23MP/8MP camera combination as the Deluxe. It also has USB Type-C compatibility and 4,600mAh battery capacity. It will retail for $479 or approximately P22,000.
