Two-tone paint finishes lend any car extra style that a monotone finish just can’t match. These special factory-applied two-tone finishes on new cars have previously been seen only on premium and luxury cars, from white-roofed Mini Coopers to black-topped Land Rovers.
But one mass-market brand is bringing the sporty and youthful style of contrasting colors to a new market segment.
It’s Chery, and the fast-growing brand has announced the availability of a select number of two-tone finishes for its in-demand Tiggo 2 subcompact crossover.
Available in six eye-catching monotone exterior colors, the Tiggo 2 can now also be ordered in unique combinations of Blue with Black top, Red with Black top, and Orange with Black top. The new black-top finishes perfectly matches the black trim found on the Tiggo 2’s front and rear bumpers, window pillars, rear spoiler, fender openings, and rocker panels, giving the car a sportier and more upscale feel. It even perfectly blends with the two-tone black-and-silver finish of the 16-inch light alloy wheels.
Inside, the two-tone theme is continued with special orange stitching and orange accents on the black-upholstered seats.
The Tiggo 2 is powered by a strong yet fuel-efficient DOHC 16-valve EFI Euro 5-compliant 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and has a space-efficient body with a generous wheelbase of 2,555mm. It features dynamic headlights with LED daytime running lights matched by upscale-looking C-shaped taillights. The Tiggo 2 has an aerodynamic body design fitted with a stylish and functional spoiler on the front bumper, side skirts, and a rear wing.
The spacious interior of the Tiggo 2 gives its cabin a sporty and upscale ambience. Its ergonomic dashboard has an integrated central console which flows seamlessly from the dash, giving the Tiggo 2’s controls a more natural and more comfortable feel to it. Cargo space is commodious at 420 liters, and may be further expanded, thanks to the 40:60 split-folding rear seats and 21 individual storage spaces found throughout the cabin.
For infotainment, there’s an 8-inch Full HD touchscreen with smartphone screen mirroring which lets you access and mirror your smartphone on the Tiggo 2’s display which, by the way, is also compatible with Android and Apple devices. The Tiggo 2’s display supports 1080HD pictures and videos just like your HD flat-screen TV at home. The system also has a USB port, so you can enjoy high-quality multimedia files onboard with support for almost all documents, pictures, music and video formats. The Tiggo 2’s touchscreen is also equipped with a reverse radar + reverse image with dynamic guidelines to help you maneuver safely.
Last but not the least, the Tiggo 2 is equipped with Hill Hold Control (HHC), which prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards on an uphill incline, as well as Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which helps ensure vehicle control on slippery roads.
A unique safety feature not common among cars is the Tiggo 2’s speeding alarm system in which you can set a certain speed between 40 to 120 km/h to prevent unintended overspeeding, which also comes with the M/T shift reminder to ensure smooth and fuel-efficient driving. The Tiggo 2 also has an automatic real-time Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
The two-tone variant is available at P795,000 SRP and can also be availed at a low DP of P20,000. The Chery Tiggo 2 comes with manual or automatic transmissions: the 1.5 M/T (P695,000) and the 1.5 A/T (P770,000). The Tiggo 2 is available through low down payment or low monthly promos.
Adding more value to the Tiggo is the brand’s new app. Dubbed Chery Auto PH App, the exciting new app is available for download on the Google Play Store for Android smartphones, with an iOS version for iPhones to follow soon.
All Chery models come with an industry-leading 10-year/1 million-km engine warranty, a 5-year general warranty, and a free full preventive maintenance service (PMS) for 3 years.
