This season of giving, foodpanda introduces “A Gift for Kuya,” a pay-it-forward initiative that enables customers to express their gratitude and appreciation to hard-working and dedicated ka-panda riders. The campaign allows customers to purchase food items and more for their rider when they order from pandamart, the grocery arm of foodpanda.

To partake in the gift-giving festivities, one must open the foodpanda app, tap pandamart and the “a gift for kuya” banner, shop from the list of options, then head on to checkout. Just four easy steps to effectively share the spirit of Christmas among our deserving ka-panda riders.

Customers can choose from a variety of “gift for rider” selections whenever they place their order. No food gift is priced over P55 to invite more customers to participate, as even presents of small amounts are deeply appreciated by those who least expect to receive them.

From filling bites of energy-boosting snacks to essential home items their families can use, customers have a lot of presents to choose from. For food gifts to kuya, options include 2pcs White Chocolate Bar for P55 and 5pcs Chocolate Chip Chookies for P55. There’s also 2pcs Brownie Overload for P55 and 5pcs Triple Chocolate Cookies for P55.

The campaign runs in all pandamart branches in Metro Manila until December 31.

To get the ball rolling in making riders feel loved and appreciated this Christmas, foodpanda has tapped Viy Cortez and Cong TV as Santa’s helpers, in their latest “Pasko” vlog.

The vlogger couple surprised three lucky riders in their homes with loads of Christmas presents, including their wish-list gift items, cash, and P5,000 worth of groceries from pandamart for their holiday celebrations.

One of the riders visited by Cong TV was Miguel Vicencio from Tondo, Manila. A dialysis patient for the past three years, the 39-year-old joined the fleet of foodpanda riders in May 2020.

“Last day na ako nag-apply no’n; ayaw ko pa nga kasi baka hindi ako tanggapin kasi may disability,” Vicencio, who undergoes dialysis treatment three times a day, said in the episode. “Pandemya, walang pagkakakitaan, kaya malaking tulong ang foodpanda sa pangangailangan ng anak ko, ng asawa ko, tapos ‘yung gamot ko, lalong lalo na ‘yun.”

Cong TV and foodpanda then presented Vicencio with a cash plaque of P50,000 to help with the rider’s treatment and his family’s financial needs.

Also visited by the team was Marino Comia of Quezon City. He was a driver for a government office and a hospital before becoming a foodpanda rider in March last year.

Gusto ko maging vlogger para makatulong sa mga foodpanda rider,” Comia said, before being presented with a brand new DLSR camera plus accessories, along with a P15,000 cash-gift.

Finally, Cong TV and the foodpanda team dropped by the house of Agustin Fabroa. At 57 years old, he is one of the oldest riders in Pasig City.

Fabroa previously went viral for a photo wherein he was shown pushing his bicycle upwards a bridge to complete a delivery. To ensure that the senior rider wouldn’t have a hard time anymore in his deliveries, foodpanda gifted him with an E-scooter to go with P20,000.

Maraming, maraming salamat sa foodpanda,” Fabroa said, as he held back tears. “Hindi ko akalain, nagpapasalamat po ako ng malaki.”
