The tech journalists covering Computex 2016 in Taiwan noticed a new device at ASUS’s demo area: a VR headset emblazoned with the name “ASUS VR” on it. The Taiwanese tech company didn’t mention the device during the press con, though.

What we know about it at the moment is that its 5.7 inches wide diagonally, which will allow you to place the newly launched ZenFone 3 Deluxe into it and the VR headset will supposedly be launched next year.

The leather strap attached to the headset looks similar to the strap of the ZenWatch and its looks remind us of the Samsung Gear VR in terms of the controls on the side as well as ZTE’s own VR headset, the latter is considered a Google Daydream-ready headset.

With its 2017 release, we can’t help but speculate that ASUS might be readying it to work with the Google Daydream VR platform as well. This latest VR headset reveal confirms that VR headsets are quickly becoming the must-have accessories for mobile devices. We can’t say much at the moment about the gadget but how are you liking its looks?
