GCash provides DMCI employees and customers with cashless solutions that are crucial during the pandemic.
The partnerships between mobile wallet leader GCash and several DMCI companies have enabled thousands of its employees and clients to adopt cashless solutions that are crucial during the pandemic, at the same time expanding the rapidly growing enterprise arm of GCash.
GCash Enterprise is the mobile wallet’s digital service solution for business owners, providing a wide range of digital financial tools and services to help enterprises, big and small, serve the needs of their customers and employees. Apart from providing mobile payment solutions, GCash Enterprise offers business solutions that enable companies to incorporate digital finance in their daily operations, such as salary and allowance disbursements and payroll.
“Contactless payment is becoming the standard way of transactions these days, and with DMCI companies expanding their partnerships with us to include providing its employees and residents with a more seamless way to pay for essentials and receive their salaries, they’re enhancing safety and convenience for everyone during these challenging times,” explained Martha Sazon, president and CEO of GCash.
Via GCash Enterprise, new and existing employees of D.M. Consunji, Inc. (DMCI) and Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC), which total over 18,000, are now able to quickly receive their salaries through GCash Mastercard. The platform has also made it easier for DMCI to onboard new hires, as they can be included in the payroll hassle-free through quick application on GCash Powerpay Plus.
Residents of DMCI Homes properties, on the other hand, can now use their GCash accounts to conveniently pay their association dues without leaving their homes, easily top up their accounts via cash-in machines deployed within the properties, and pay for goods via a safe, contactless option in nearby stores.
“We have always been forward-looking in our business approach, which is why we have been adopting new technologies within our operations to keep pace with the times. Our partnership with GCash is a testament to how we have been integrating proven digital solutions that make everything more convenient and seamless for our company and our customers,” said Ma. Edwina C. Laperal, board director of DMCI, DMCI Homes and SMPC.
Aside from serving employees under the DMCI payroll, the construction firm has been using the cashless payment solution in more than 20 of its office cafeterias. Residents on 51 of DMCI Homes properties are remitting their association dues via Bills Pay and are enjoying fuss-free cash-ins through GCash cash-in machines that are available in 30 of its properties. DMCI Homes is also looking at onboarding merchants operating within their properties to enroll in GCash Scan to make payments and cash-ins easier for residents.
GCash first partnered with SMPC in 2019, when the country’s leading e-wallet was tapped to provide a cashless system for mine site employees in Semirara Island. GCash has also been DMCI Home’s digital payment partner for its association due collections since then.
“These partnerships reflect the growing number of companies today that are taking a step toward digitizing many of their business operations. We are delighted to have introduced a good business model that many businesses are benefiting from, particularly in this time of pandemic when digital cashless solutions have become the preferred means for people to send money or purchase items,” said Sazon.
