Unboxing the ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 UX482

ASUS Philippines is set launch one of their most premium laptop this March 23 and we already have our hands on it — the ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 UX482. One thing we can say for sure after all the products ASUS has released this year, it just keeps getting better and better.

The ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 combines powerful performance and materials with a sophisticated aesthetic for the ultimate in style and durability. The ZenBook’s chassis and lid are composed of magnesium aluminum alloy that complement the elegant Celestial Blue finish. On top of this, the asymmetric-circle trademark ZenBook pattern gives off an intricate and modern appearance. The ZenBook Duo 14 weighs just 1.6 kg and is 16.9 mm thick, which is 50 grams lighter and 3 mm thinner than the previous generation.

The ZenBook Duo 14 features a frameless, NanoEdge FHD display that allows for a 93% screen-to-body ratio. This display is PANTONE Validated which gives the laptop the most precise color accuracy in its class. It also features Anti-Flicker technology (Direct Current mode) and Low Blue light modes, and has passed TÜV Rheinland Eye Care certification. Below it is the new tilting ScreenPad Plus, a secondary touchscreen that automatically tilts up to an angle of 7°, which reduces glare and reflections for improved readability.

Under the hood, this device is powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor. In terms of storage, the laptop supports up to 16GB LPDDR4X 4266 MHz memory and up to 1 TB PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD of hard drive space. For its graphics, we have the the NVIDIA GeForce MX450 which can vastly accelerate your workloads. With this graphics card, you can expect up to 2 times faster performance over the previous GeForce MX25 for 3DMark Time Spy applications, as well as quicker, smoother content creation and gaming.

Included ports on the the ZenBook Duo 14 are 2 Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, a full size HDMI 1.4 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a microSD card reader, and WiFi 6/Bluetooth 5 for a complete set of modern high-speed connectivity options. In terms of battery, the laptop contains a 70 Wh lithium-polymer battery for up to 17 hours of battery life. The ZenBook Duo 14 has passed Intel Evo platform certifications, which affirms the well-rounded specifications and ultra-portable nature of the laptop.

A new standout feature of the ZenBook Duo 14 is its Active Aerodynamic System Plus + ErgoLift Hinge. This hinge is made up of a durable zinc alloy that is capable of lifting the laptop and ScreenPad Plus to a more ergonomic angle (up to 7 degrees) for greater thermal efficiency and viewing experiences. This ScreenPad Plus acts as a secondary display and touch screen for the ultimate in multi-tasking and work efficiency (using functions such as “App navigator” or “Task swap” for instance). The ScreenXpert 2.0 UI with Control Panel allows for seamless and intuitive interactivity between the primary display and the ScreenPad Plus. The Control Panel currently supports Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Lightroom Classic.
