Ginebra San Miguel Inc. (GSMI) is brewing a whole new plan for 2016. Currently standing firm on its success in the mass market, the company is now planning to reach even greater heights by catering to more premium groups.
Perceiving a change in the times, GSMI is paving the way for a new mix of gin culture in the Philippines. The year will mark the brand’s emancipation from the old and a welcoming of the new. As such, GSMI has presented its roadmap for the year.
Ganado Sa Buhay. GSMI has always championed the Filipino Fighting Spirit or “Ganado.” The campaign, which was previously marketed exclusively for the working class, will now target a younger market. A new TVC campaign hopes to champion the future of “Ganado” Filipinos. Be sure to check out their spots on TV throughout the year.
Gin Nation Roving Caravan. The Gin Nation Roving Caravan is a truck that was created to guide people on the various ways that Ginebra San Miguel can be consumed. For this year, GSMI will be partnering with the metro’s hottest events and destinations like Mercato Centrale, Maginhawa Food Street, school events, and concerts. The truck has also formulated five mixes that everyone can enjoy at these events—Manila Sunrise, Blue Fizz, Mojito Slush, Sweet Lemony Martini, and the All Nighter.
Ginumanfest Concert Series. This is a concert series that will tour the different regions of the Philippines. The Ginumanfest is the biggest festival road show in the category covering destinations from Luzon to Mindanao.
Ginebra San Miguel 3 on 3 Tournament. GSMI will be going around different barangays to host three-on-three competitions wherein anyone above the age of 18 can participate. To join, participants will have to collect GSM Blue caps or Ginebra San Miguel seals. The teams will battle it out on the barangay level to be their area’s representative. The top 16 teams will face-off against one another in a championship tournament.
The inaugural qualifier will happen on March 12 at Santolan, Pasig City. Teams from Pampanga, Tarlac, Pangasinan, Laguna, Quezon, Cavite, Bulacan, Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Parañaque, Rizal, Pasay, Cebu, Davao, and Bacolod will have their respective qualifiers all the way until May 7.
GSM Blue Redesign. To captivate a younger audience, GSMI has redesigned and reformulated GSM Blue with a contemporary look and a smooth taste that hints of a fresh citrus aroma. The new GSM Blue will invade destinations such as La Union, Baler, Zambales, and Boracay.
Besides tasting booth, GSMI will be flying five friends for free to Boracay through a photo-liking contest. Participants have to post their tropa adventures with the new GSM Blue on Facebook and Instagram with the hashtag #GSMBlueSummerAdventure. The post with the most number of likes wins a 3D2N Boracay trip for five during the Labor Day weekend.
In line with the new GSM Blue, GSMI will be holding its annual Blueniversity Bar Mixing event wherein Hotel and Restaurant Management students can show off their mixing and bartending skills on March 7. The winner will represent the country in an international competition.
Ginebra San Miguel Premium Gin. This new product signals the company’s expansion to a more upscale market. The Premium Gin will be pushed by the Premium Gin cart which will mix the drink with unexpected ingredients.
World Gin Day. Ginebra San Miguel will be joining the worldwide celebration of World Gin Day on June 11. GSMI will be treating its audience to performers like Quest, Callalily, Banda ni Kleggy, and Arci Muñoz.
