Having been indoors for the past several months has definitely protected us from the dangers of the outside world in terms of the ongoing pandemic. However, staying home and being immobile for long periods of time might lead to neglecting other aspects of our health, specifically exercise and activity. Personally, I’ve been feeling lethargic and have been idle at home; thus, I haven’t been as active as I once was prior to the lockdown, especially since I’ve also been away from my friends whom I usually enjoy these activities with.
Thankfully, the past month or so have been different for me mainly due to the latest Huawei Watch Fit, which has been my partner in practically any and everything I do. The Smartwatch boasts a plethora of features that benefit me in numerous ways in my day-to-day activities, from physical exercise, performance analysis, overall health, to its more practical uses, and many more which I will be tackling later on.
Display & Appearance
In terms of the display, the Huawei Watch Fit has a 1.64” AMOLED screen with 280×546 HD Resolution and a 70% screen-to-body ratio for a clear and wide viewing experience for the user. Its interface, on the other hand, is customizable to your own preference with 6 Always-On watch faces, along with many more available on the Watch Face Store. The apps and widgets are also customizable to suit which ones are most convenient and easily accessible for you. The Smartwatch’s face is 10.7mm thick, coated in textured matte, and paired with a colorful and smooth strap made from durable polymer materials, giving off a sporty yet sophisticated look.
Despite its impressive size and display, the Huawei Watch Fit is still lightweight and sleek at just 21 grams. I found these attributes particularly convenient when playing basketball and weightlifting as the watch is light enough not to impede certain movements and motions, nor is it bothersome or uncomfortable when feeling sweaty and sticky. Also as previously mentioned, the Smartwatch’s sporty yet sophisticated look allows it to be versatile enough to be my workout partner and also complete my attire when going out as well.
Features
Personally, the most appealing aspect of the Huawei Watch Fit is the numerous exercise and workout features that it offers. From 96 different workout modes, providing 12 kinds of animated quick-workouts, tracking distance covered with built-in GPS, monitoring heart rate and to many more enticing features, what can’t the Huawei Watch Fit do? Its innovative sensors detect the start and end of workouts, recognize the workout type, all whilst recording data.
What makes these features all the more impressive is that it not only records data from your workouts, but also provides real-time metrics for professional analysis and scientific guidance post-workout. Not only would the Huawei Watch Fit help you merely work out, but would go as far as assisting you during the entire process in understanding and analyzing your progress and performance. By allowing you to have better performance and ultimately better results, the Huawei Watch Fit certainly is your perfect workout buddy. I definitely enjoy these features when doing my regular physical activities such as basketball and weightlifting wherein I can track the workout duration, amount of calories burned and identify at which points my heart rate was particularly high or low.
Given the multiple functions and features this Smartwatch has, I’m not only limited in enjoying it during those two aforementioned activities only. When walking my dogs, I utilize its built-in GPS, which is particularly useful for me in tracking the distance covered, as I remain mindful of my dogs’ relatively old age. Moreover, the Smartwatch is also able to accurately record my sleep state, analyze sleep quality and provide scientific advice in improving sleep quality. I’ve been enjoying this feature especially lately, as I’ve consistently been waking up early to catch the NBA Playoffs yet still being conscious of my overall sleep.
Battery
Outside of its many exciting features, the Huawei Watch Fit also has an impressive 180mAh battery, perfect for a device in constant use. At moderate usage rate, the watch can last 10 days; at heavy usage rate, the watch can last around 7 days. Due to its dual-chipset architecture, the Smartwatch is able to intelligently lower its battery consumption. While thanks to its quick-charge technology, it takes a total of 65 minutes to fully charge its battery, while even a mere 5 minute charge is sufficient to last throughout the day. In 5 minutes, my Huawei Watch Fit charged from 0% to 19% and, in fact, lasted me the whole day even while utilizing its features. A watch of this capacity and the many functions it has surely consumes a relatively high amount of power, which is why a battery of such capacity is excellent for this type of smartwatch.
All in all, the Huawei Watch Fit being extremely versatile and multifaceted, is what makes it a great all-around daily partner. Although its workout features are what headline the product, there are still so many other exciting functions for practically any and every activity. Having been in lockdown for around half a year, it’s highly likely we’ve been idle and just been lounging at home. A smartwatch like the Huawei Watch Fit might just be what we need in order to get up and be active, but, of course, still within the comforts of our own homes.
