The Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin – more commonly known as IFA or the Berlin Radio Show – is one of the biggest consumer electronics events held annually. As per its name, it is held in Berlin, Germany. It was first held in 1924. Until 1939, it was held annually. After which, it was only held every two years, until 2006 when it was held annually once again. Last year, 2nd Opinion covered this annual event in our pages. This year, we’re doing it again and you’re reading it first in our online webpages.

IFA 2015 has just concluded, leaving us with a host of new gadgets to look forward to in the coming months. First up: Motorola.

Motorola is a relatively new player in the IFA scene, and it mostly had a decent track record of announcements. This time around, Motorola opted to announce a refreshed Moto 360, the company’s  very popular smartwatch. It comes in two variants: the Moto 360 and Moto 360 Sport.

The new Moto 360 has two sizes – 46mm and 42mm. Both have a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, Wi-Fi, and an optical heart rate monitor (PPG).

The Moto 360 Sport – like the name implies – is for fitness buffs. It has a silicone-based wristband that resists sweating and moisture while boasting the AnyLight hybrid display. It combines the traditional backlit screen with front-lit reflective tech, allowing the wearer to view notifications in any condition, especially under bright sunlight.

As of writing, the new Moto 360 will be available by the end of September while the Moto 360 Sport will be available later this year with price tags ranging from $300-$430.
