Every year, an estimated 1.25 million people worldwide are involved in road traffic accidents according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Here in the Philippines, government data shows that traffic incidents have been increasing and have never dipped below 8,000 accidents annually.
With this in mind, Shell just launched a new campaign that aims to help make roads safer for all Filipinos.
Dubbed “BiyaHero,” the campaign is part of Shell’s commitment to keep drivers safe, secure, and in good health on the road. The campaign also aims to be a reminder that safety on the road is everybody’s responsibility.
“We at Shell believe that road safety starts with all of us, and that always being aware, alert, and prepared can help save lives,” said Anthony Yam Pilipinas Shell Vice President for the Retail Business. “This is part of Shell’s continuing effort to implement road safety programs for motorists, which I am proud to say the company has been doing for the longest time,” he added.
As part of the BiyaHero campaign, which started during the long Holy Week break, participating Shell stations have also prepared offers to make their customers enjoy their long drives.
Shell provides safe driving tips to remind the drivers to be safe while on the road and become their family’s very own ‘BiyaHero.’
With every P1,000 worth of V-Power fuel, customers are given P3.00 off per liter on their next fuel purchase. Motorists are also entitled to discounts on their favorite snacks, drinks, and road needs at Shell Select and Shell Deli2go outlets. To further ease the public’s journeys on long weekends, Shell has provided clean and sanitized comfort rooms at their gas stations.
Shell Helix Oil Change+, on the other hand, offers hassle-free oil change and maintenance services. Customers can also avail of Shell’s year-long special offers, such as a free 14-point safety check by expert mechanics as well as free engine insurance and roadside assistance if they avail of a Shell Helix Ultra oil change package. They can also get 40% off on oil change labor when they present their SM Advantage Card.
“Shell believes that through ‘BiyaHero,’ drivers will do their part to be responsible not just for themselves but for the whole community and together, our roads will be safer,” Yam declares.
