In a media launch last week, Lenovo celebrated their stellar performance during fiscal year 2018-19, which saw the company once again claiming the top spot in worldwide PC shipments. They also launched a complete line of products fit for every user.

Having recently concluded their fiscal year, Lenovo proudly revealed that the company’s revenue reached an all-time high of $51 billion, up 12.5% year on year, with company net income reaching $597 million. A strong fourth quarter performance also led to double-digit growth with revenue coming from its PC and Smart devices amounting to $38.5 billion, making Lenovo the #1 PC company in the world with a record market share of 23.4% for the fiscal year while also becoming the fastest-growing among the top five players.

Lenovo General Country Manager, Michael Ngan

“Lenovo’s solid performance reflects the continuous efforts on our strategies to put the customer at the core of our business. In today’s world, we focus on enabling them to thrive through the process of ‘intelligent transformation’ by continuing to provide innovative technology whose features can perform in a wide variety of tasks, whether for gaming, entertainment, work, and everything in between,” said Lenovo Philippines Country General Manager, Michael Ngan.

The rise of Lenovo Legion

Legion Concept Store in SM North Edsa Cyberzone

A critical factor in Lenovo’s growth surge is its Legion gaming lineup which started 2019 in the Philippines with a bang. This year saw the opening of the first exclusive Legion Concept Store in SM City North EDSA, and shortly after, Legion also co-presented GameCon 2019, one of the country’s biggest gaming conventions.

Boosted with the release of new devices and the formation of the Legion PH community, the Legion lineup is now the fastest-growing gaming notebook brand in the country per monthly brand share. Moreover, Legion is the only brand to post consecutive growth since December 2018. In terms of global growth, for the whole FY18/19, Lenovo posted Gaming PC revenue growth of 19.4% year to year and market growth in both revenue and shipment.

To sustain this, Legion is strengthening its lineup with new devices. With complete immersion as the name of the game when it comes to modern gaming, the new Legion lineup is set to provide just that, with devices equipped with the latest graphics cards and processors for a truly immersive gameplay.

The Legion Y740

Intel says this will provide gamers 56% higher frames per second and 38% faster game turn times while content creators will enjoy a 54% speed boost when editing 4K videos. Wrapped in all-aluminum chassis and thin bezels, the Y740 breaks the convention of what gaming devices look like with its sleek design. It retails at P119,995.

Legion is also releasing the Lenovo IdeaPad L340 Gaming laptop for those on the lookout for their first gaming PC. Complementing these are Legion peripherals and accessories designed to offer the complete gaming experience. Pushing boundaries with the new IdeaPad and Yoga Ultrabooks

Alongside Legion’s role in Lenovo’s growth is the strong performance of its popular Yoga and IdeaPad lineups. The sales are mainly driven by the customer demand for thin and light devices, which according to IDC will continue to see mid to high single-digit shipment growth in the coming years. Known for their iconic watchband hinges and convertible features, the Yoga and IdeaPad lines are considered as among the most portable devices available.

Last year, Lenovo bid the problem of thick and bulky notebooks goodbye by refreshing its Yoga and IdeaPad lineups and turning all devices into Ultrabooks─powerful laptops that are on-trend and in demand as they are less than 20mm thick and weigh below 2kg. Lenovo is finally bringing the new IdeaPad and Yoga Ultrabooks in the Philippines. With a total of 16 Ultrabook models, no other company has such a large portfolio of Ultrabook devices.
