Following its launch at MWC 2018, Sony is officially bringing in the Xperia XZ2 into the country. The new Sony flagship won’t be joined by the Xperia XZ2 Compact but we got word that the higher end Xperia XZ2 Premium will be coming at a later date.
Sony is pricing the XZ2 at P43,990 and the model coming to the country will be the dual nano SIM version. It will be available in Liquid Silver and Liquid Black.
The phone has a 5.7-inch display with an FHD+ 2,160 x 1,080 resolution, 2:1 aspect ratio, and HDR support. It has front-firing stereo speakers. And it runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage with microSD expansion of up to 400GB, Android 8.0 Oreo, and 3,180mAh battery with Qi wireless charging support.
Sony introduced Dynamic Vibration System that makes the phone rumble along to different types of media and games. Sony’s tagline for the feature is “feel your media.” It’s similar to the feel of holding a PlayStation controller in your hand.
When it comes to its camera, Sony sticks with the 19-megapixel sensor and tweaked things a bit to make it better. When shooting in 4K video, it can now capture HDR and Sony bumped up the resolution of its ultra slo-mo mode by letting you record 960fps footage in 1080p resolution. The 3D Creator face-scanning app can now work with the 5-megapixel front-facing camera as well.
You have until May 6 to pre-order the XZ2 and get a gift set that includes a Sony XB50BS Sports Wireless In-Ear Headphones, clear cover, and Sony EC270 USB Type-C 2-in-1 cable worth P5,479. Retail availability will be on May 11 at all authorized Sony dealers.
