Demonstrating its commitment to supporting Filipino communities in times of need, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), in partnership with Isuzu General Santos and the Local Government Unit of Barangay Burias, conducted a relief assistance activity for families affected by the recent earthquake in Glan, Sarangani.

A total of 250 families from Barangay Burias, one of the areas severely impacted by the earthquake, received essential relief packs containing hygiene kits, bottled water, and food supplies. The initiative was organized to provide immediate assistance to residents whose daily lives have been disrupted by damaged homes, blocked roads, and limited access to markets and basic necessities.
Special attention was given to senior citizens and nearby coastal communities, many of whom faced additional challenges during the disaster response. As road obstructions and damaged local stores made essential goods difficult to obtain, the relief effort aimed to provide comfort and immediate support to some of the community’s most vulnerable residents.

Representing IPC during the turnover was Ms. Imelda Bernas, Assistant Vice President for Administration, who reaffirmed the company’s commitment to extending assistance beyond its business operations. “IPC believes that being a responsible corporate citizen means standing beside our communities, especially during difficult times. Through this relief initiative, we hope to provide not only essential supplies but also encouragement and reassurance to the families of Barangay Burias as they recover from the effects of the earthquake. We are grateful to our partners at Isuzu General Santos and the Barangay Local Government Unit for making this meaningful initiative possible,” said Bernas.

Barangay Captain Venancio Siao Wata III expressed his gratitude for the timely assistance extended by IPC and its partners. “On behalf of the people of Barangay Burias, we sincerely thank Isuzu Philippines Corporation and Isuzu General Santos for their generosity and compassion. Your support has brought much-needed relief to our residents, particularly our senior citizens and families who continue to face the challenges brought about by the earthquake. Your kindness reminds our community that we are not alone during these difficult times.”
The relief activity reflects IPC’s continuing commitment to social responsibility – through meaningful partnerships and initiatives that respond to the needs of society, the company remains dedicated to making a positive impact beyond mobility by extending help to communities when it is needed most.
As communities in Sarangani continue their recovery efforts, IPC hopes that this initiative will help ease the burden of affected families while reinforcing the spirit of solidarity and compassion that enables communities to rebuild stronger together.
