They’re a cute, hilarious, and they are taking over Hollywood.

Minions & Monsters take a new tribe of Minions on an adventure as they try to make the next big movie, and unleash monsters into the world in doing so.

Directing the film is Pierre Coffin, who has been the voice of the Minions since their creation. In Minions & Monsters he gives life to James, Henry, and Ed, three friends at the center of the film, as well as the tribe’s self–appointed leader, Dick.

James with a film camera in Minions & Monsters

James is a creative Minion, who forgoes the usual Minion impulse of finding an evil boss to serve. He’s a sensitive type, more focused on telling tales and his artistry, and eventually he discovers the powerful medium of film. His desire to create the next big movie results in a mishap of monstrous proportions, and it’s up to him and his tribe to fix the damage.

Henry has been James’ constant cheerleader from the beginning. The bestest of friends, Henry has always supported James’ pursuit of the arts, cheering him on even if it means being alienated from the rest of the tribe.

Rounding out the trio is Ed, a hearing-impaired Minion that communicates nonverbally. The trio has their own system of signs to talk to each other, and as their journey splits them up with the rest of the tribe, Ed becomes an essential member of the filmmaking team.

Dick leading the pack in Minions & Monsters

Dick would like to think that he’s the leader of their tribe, as he’s the one who’s been the most committed to the classic Minion mission: finding a new villain to serve. With that, he is against James’ outlandish filmmaking dreams, and has no plans on pursuing it with him.

Minions & Monsters arrives on the big screen on June 30. Tickets available now! Head to your local cinema or check out their online ticketing websites. Follow Universal Pictures PH (FB), UniversalPicturesPH (IG), and UniversalPicsPH (TikTok) for the latest news and updates.
