Chery Auto Philippines rolled out something youthful and perky—and almost whimsical—at the ongoing Philippine International Motor Show at the World Trade Center.
It’s the first-ever Chery QEV and it represents a bold new chapter for the brand that’s been known for its crossovers and SUVs.
Technically speaking, the new Chery QEV is a full-electric 5-door hatchback (think Mini Cooper Clubman with electric power), but the company behind it is positioning it as a “Pure Electric Smart EV Cruiser designed for contemporary urban living.”
Compact enough to navigate congested city streets and tight parking spaces with ease, yet spacious enough to accommodate everyday essentials, the QEV delivers versatility for work commutes, family errands, weekend adventures, and everything in between.
Developed as an affordable entry point into electric mobility, the QEV combines efficiency, practicality, advanced technology, and engaging driving dynamics in a package designed to make the transition to EV ownership simple and enjoyable.
Award-winning youthful design
The QEV brings together distinctive styling and functional innovation. Recognized globally with prestigious Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award honors, the vehicle showcases a refined geometric design language highlighted by signature rounded Q-shaped LED headlamps and taillamps, vibrant color options (beige, red, purple), and a minimalist cabin accented by premium interior finishes.
Serious real-world performance
Beyond its striking appearance, every element of the QEV has been engineered around real-world usability. The vehicle offers up to 405 kilometers of pure electric driving range (NEDC) and supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in as little as 16.5 minutes. Its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability further enhances versatility by enabling users to power and share energy with compatible external devices whenever needed.
Versatile interior with high connectivity
Inside, the QEV features ventilated seats, flexible cargo solutions with both a trunk and front storage compartment, and 38 intelligently designed storage spaces throughout the cabin. Whether carrying groceries, work essentials, sports equipment, or travel luggage, the QEV seamlessly adapts to daily demands.
At the center of the cabin is a best-in-class 15.6-inch 2.5K Ultra HD touchscreen display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. The system supports Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 50W wireless smartphone charger, intelligent voice controls, and a range of personalization features that allow drivers to tailor the cabin experience to their preferences.
The vehicle is equipped with Level 2 Intelligent Driving Assistance, complemented by a 540-degree Around View Monitor that enhances visibility and maneuverability in urban environments, helping drivers navigate traffic, narrow roads, and parking situations with greater confidence.
Fun to drive like a Mini—but with rear-wheel drive
The QEV’s silent electric powertrain is paired with a rear-wheel-drive platform, rear independent suspension, responsive steering, and balanced chassis dynamics to create an agile and engaging driving experience. The result is a vehicle that feels effortless in everyday situations while remaining enjoyable behind the wheel.
