As developments continue across parts of the Middle East, Maya is extending support to Filipino families in the Philippines who rely on remittances from loved ones working in the region.
From March 23 to April 10, 2026, Maya users who receive remittances from selected Middle East countries—including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan—can unlock a set of transaction rebates designed to help them access and use their funds more easily.
“With many overseas Filipinos in the Middle East supporting their families back home, we aim to make it easier for households to access and make the most of these remittances by reducing everyday transaction costs,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder.
The Middle East remains one of the Philippines’ most important remittance corridors—home to an estimated 2.4 million Filipinos based on data from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and contributing over USD 6.4 billion in remittances in 2025 based on preliminary data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). Maya’s initiative focuses on reducing everyday financial costs that remittance-receiving families often incur when accessing or distributing funds sent from abroad.
Eligible Maya users who activate Maya XP will receive the following rebates:
• ATM withdrawals: ATM withdrawal rebates, ₱18 credited back per transaction
• InstaPay transfers: InstaPay bank transfer rebates, ₱15 credited back per transaction.
In addition to these rebates, eligible users may also enjoy cashback on mobile load purchases, ranging from 1% to 3% depending on their Maya XP level. This allows families to stay connected with loved ones working abroad while stretching the value of remittances further.
Users become eligible when they receive remittances into their Maya account from the following Middle East countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan.
After receiving a qualifying remittance, eligible users will receive an invitation to activate Maya XP, typically within 1 to 3 days. Eligible users can activate their Maya XP directly within the Maya app by accessing the Maya XP section in the Wallet Dashboard or Profile page and completing the quick “Get started” process, including providing the required consent.

Once activated, users can immediately begin enjoying rebates on eligible transactions. Rebates are automatically applied when users complete eligible ATM withdrawals or InstaPay transfers. The corresponding cashback is credited to the user’s Maya wallet on the same day the transaction is made.
Maya XP is a feature in the Maya app that enables users to unlock additional benefits as they engage more actively with their accounts. By using everyday financial services such as payments, transfers and savings, users can progress through levels and access corresponding rewards. The feature supports Maya’s broader financial health efforts by encouraging consistent and responsible use of digital financial tools. It is currently on an early-access rollout.
By easing small but frequent financial costs—from withdrawing cash to transferring funds and staying connected—Maya aims to help Filipino households make the most of remittances from loved ones working in the Middle East.
