MG Philippines strengthens bank partnerships through “MG 5-Star Drive” featuring the all-new MG HS Hybrid+

MG Philippines fortified its commitment to sustainable mobility and strategic partnerships by hosting the MG 5-Star Drive, an exclusive experiential event designed to bring its valued bank partners closer to the brand’s latest hybrid innovation.

The drive gathered 30 bank officers from some of the country’s most trusted financial institutions, including (in alphabetical order): Banco de Oro Unibank (BDO), Bank of China (BOC), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), China Bank Savings, China Banking Corporation, EastWest Bank (EWB), Maybank, Philippine National Bank (PNB), Philippine Savings Bank (PSBank), Philtrust Bank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), Security Bank Corporation (SBC), and Sterling Bank of Asia.

The day began at MG Greenhills, where guests were welcomed with breakfast and an introduction to MG Philippines’ latest hybrid offering, the All-New MG HS Hybrid+, and its smart safety technologies. By 9:30 a.m., participants embarked on a convoy drive that mirrored the realities of everyday Filipino driving.

From the heavy traffic of EDSA, the journey smoothly transitioned to the open highways of NLEX, before moving through mixed road conditions heading toward Pampanga. The route was intentionally designed to show that the MG HS Hybrid+ can adapt to both stop-and-go city traffic and long-distance cruising, giving participants a more personal appreciation of efficiency, comfort, and driving confidence in real-world conditions.

The MG HS Hybrid+ has earned an official Automobile Association Philippines (AAP)-certified fuel economy rating of 21.55 km/L. During the on-road fuel economy challenge, participants pushed the hybrid technology to its limits while practicing efficient driving techniques.

The challenge produced impressive results, with two groups surpassing expectations by achieving 22.2 km/L. The car that arrived first was driven by China Bank Savings and Sterling Bank, composed of Mr. Francis Mendoza, Mr. Paulo Condes, Ms. Marivic Dela Fuente, and Ms. Eliz Solomon. The second group—consisting of Security Bank’s Mr. Earl Moulic and Ms. Lovely Esguerra, as well as Maybank’s Mr. Donnie Ray San Diego and Mr. Noel Austria—arrived just a few minutes later, further demonstrating how to maximize the fuel efficiency of the MG HS Hybrid+ under real-world conditions.

The journey culminated at Rare Bar and Grill in Clark, Pampanga, where participants enjoyed an afternoon of dining, networking, and deeper brand engagement.

Beyond product experience, the MG 5-Star Drive also underscored MG Philippines’ commitment to strengthening its partnerships with the banking sector. By working closely with financial partners, MG Philippines continues to improve accessibility to hybrid mobility through competitive financing programs, faster loan processing, and stronger in-branch visibility, helping more Filipino motorists experience the benefits of sustainable driving.

By combining advanced hybrid technology, strong industry collaboration, and customer-focused mobility solutions, MG Philippines continues to drive the future of smarter, greener, and more practical mobility for the modern Filipino.
