The Henry Ford Awards (HFA), the industry’s longest-running awards program honoring excellence in Philippine motoring journalism, is marking its 25th milestone year by awarding 25 motoring journalists and publications in 2026.
The first set of awardees will be composed of an esteemed roster of motoring journalists who have received the most number of HFA trophies since the award-giving body began in 2001.
The second set of awards are open to submission for all journalists who cover the motoring beat. The list of categories will be announced when the online submission portal goes live on February 9, 2026. Stories, photos, and videos to be submitted must have been published or posted between January 1 to December 31, 2025.
As in previous years, the submitted entries will undergo a rigorous two-phase judging process with each phase having its own set of external judges composed of respected professionals from the academe and various allied industries, as well as experts in creative and design, photography and videography, social media, and digital publishing.
Butch Gamboa Lifetime Achievement Award
One of the highlights of the 25th Henry Ford Awards is the Butch Gamboa Lifetime Achievement Award, which is a special award presented to a Filipino motoring journalist who has made a significant impact among his or her peers, colleagues, brand leaders, and the industry in general with his or her profound work in automotive journalism, upholding the legacy of Philippine motoring journalism icon Butch Gamboa†.
All media titles who cover the motoring beat (print and online) can nominate one (1) journalist (can be an editor, writer, or broadcast/video presenter) to represent their publication. A one-page form, available on the HFA online portal starting February 9, 2026, will be submitted highlighting the accomplishments of the journalist. The form can be filled up by a peer or by the entrant himself/herself. A panel of external judges will shortlist the submissions to the final five (5) finalists, with the winner to be determined through online peer voting.
All 25 winners will be announced at the 25th Henry Ford Awards Winners’ Night in May 2026.
