Media drive showcases powerful EV performance, comfort, and versatility
United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the local distributor of Radar, an EV and Plug-in Hybrid pickup brand—hosted a media drive last week to showcase the exceptional performance of the Radar RD6 pickup. The event, held at the R33 Driftrack in San Simon, Pampanga, allowed attendees to experience firsthand the vehicle’s full capabilities and segment-disrupting potential.
Participants were put behind the wheel for a comprehensive test program that included controlled performance evaluations. The RD6 impressed with its instant torque delivery, smooth yet strong acceleration, and car-like riding comfort, demonstrating that electric power can combine performance, versatility, and comfort in a pickup platform.
Powered by an up to 376hp/485Nm electric motor and offering up to 443 kilometers of range, the fully electric Radar RD6 Econ delivered confident performance throughout the event. Offering even more power and range, the Radar RD6 EM-P 4WD plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) generates 457hp/659Nm and an impressive 1,000+ kilometers of driving range.
A variety of performance tests were conducted for both RD6 models, including 0-80 km/h acceleration runs, high-speed slalom tests, cornering and tight-turn maneuvers, plus a speed bump and rumble strip test.
The RD6’s game-changing riding comfort and car-like handling from its unibody chassis and four-wheel independent suspension was highlighted by the speed bump and rumble strip test, while its superb outward visibility was demonstrated in the visible cone and parking test.
The exercise showcased the RD6’s quiet operation, responsive acceleration, confident handling, and superb riding comfort—attributes that elevate the ownership experience beyond traditional pickup expectations. These performance advantages are paired with the inherent benefits of an electric powertrain, including significant fuel savings, lower maintenance requirements due to fewer moving parts, and a more cost-efficient ownership experience that is especially attractive for fleet-operated businesses.
The RD6’s versatility also stood out as a key highlight. Its spacious rear bed and multiple storage compartments demonstrated the vehicle’s utility, while an easy to use Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) power output was highlighted with a live demo of actual equipment and appliances being powered by the RD6. This capability underscores Radar’s mission to create electric vehicles that support both active/adventure lifestyles as well as work and utility applications.
Inside, the RD6 features a modern, premium cabin with a large touchscreen interface, intuitive controls, and smart connectivity options. Its quiet and comfortable interior further sets it apart from conventional pickups.

Following the media drive, early impressions were generally positive, with attendees highlighting the RD6’s balance of efficiency, performance, connectivity, and functionality.
The Radar RD6 is expected to appeal to both retail and corporate pickup truck users in the Philippines, marking a segment-redefining milestone for the local EV market and expanding consumer options in the growing electric and hybrid pickup category.
All new Radar RD6 models come with a 5-year or 150,000 km bumper-to-bumper warranty, whichever comes first. The High Voltage (HV) battery is covered by a separate 8-year or 200,000 km warranty whichever comes first.
