Xiaomi joined the ranks of tech giants as they made their CES debut this year. Aiming to reach a wider and global audience, CES launched three products at CES.
Mi Mix White
The Philippine market is no stranger to Xiaomi’s products. The Mi Mix presented at CES was the white variant, but Xiaomi didn’t update any of its innards. The Mi Mix is available with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Touted to be as one of the first smartphones to have an almost bezel-less design, the Mi Mix sure looks good in white. As with other Xiaomi’s products, there’s no news of when it’ll be available outside of China.
Mi Router HD
Xiaomi launched the Router HD lineup of routers. Not only does it connect your household, it also features a built-in HDD that lets you use it as a NAS. The Router HD comes in 2 variants, the 8TB which is under US$500 (around P24,000) and a 1TB one which costs US$200 (around P9,800). It supports up to 2600Mbps of transfer speed in 802.11ac Wi-Fi and 4×4 MU-MIMO. The 4 high-gain antennas ensure solid connectivity for your devices around your household.
Mi TV 4
And the star of the night, the Mi TV 4 smart TV with 4K display. At 4.9mm, this has got to be one of the thinnest smart TVs on the market right now; it’s even thinner than a smartphone! The panel looks elegant and the almost bezel-less design blends right into your living room. Xiaomi’s unique approach to the modular design is such a feat. The TV’s panel and the Mi TV Bar, which contains the brains and speakers of the TV, can be upgraded with a subwoofer and two extra speakers to give the user a Dolby Atmos experience right in their living room. The Mi TV also has a deep-learning AI system that gives personalized recommendations, although currently, the software installed is only applicable to the Chinese region. The Mi TV 4 is available in 49” / 55” and 65”.
