Step into a magical world: Into The Woods comes to the Samsung Performing Arts Theater with BPI

The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) is the Official Bank Partner for Theatre Group Asia’s highly anticipated Philippine production of Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods, which will run from August 7 to 24, 2025, at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati.

This production marks the return of Olivier and Tony Award-winning Filipina actress Lea Salonga to the Philippine stage after six years. Salonga will take on the iconic role of The Witch, adding her signature artistry and depth to the beloved Sondheim classic.

Based on James Lapine’s book and originally directed by Lapine himself on Broadway, Into The Woods is a grand-scale production featuring 18 main characters set against a fantastical and elaborate backdrop. Leading the creative vision for this production is Tony Award-winning Clint Ramos, who serves as artistic director and creative director, alongside co-producers John and Joanna Echauz and Samsung Performing Arts Theater Executive Director Christopher Mohnani.
