Ford Philippines announces the distinguished panel of judges for the 24th Henry Ford Awards (HFA), the country’s longest-running award-giving body that recognizes excellence in Philippine automotive journalism. The Board of Judges comprises respected professionals in the academe and various industries who will evaluate the submitted entries of motoring journalists. They will participate in a rigorous two-phase judging process to determine the winners.
The esteemed Board of Judges for the 24th Henry Ford Awards are:
First Phase:
- Dr. Arminda Santiago, College of Media and Communication, University of the Philippines Diliman
- Dr. Jan Michael Bernadas, Chair, Department of Communication, De La Salle University
- Mr. Felipe Salvosa, Head, Department of Journalism, University of Sto. Tomas
- Dr. Norman Tanchingco, Department of Marketing and Law, Ateneo de Manila University
Second Phase:
- Dr. Elena Pernia, President, Philippines Communication Society, and former Vice President for Public Affairs, University of the Philippines
- Mr. Harold Geronimo, Vice President, Communications and Media Affairs, Megaworld
- Ms. Bea Bautista, Communications Lead, TikTok Philippines
- Ms. Gilda Maquilan, Vice President for Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, GCash
Special Category Judges:
- Ms. Annabelle C. Chavez, President, Camera Club of the Philippines
- Mr. Nick Daez, Director and Owner, SeaBiscuit Films
- Mr. Chino Jayme, Executive Creative Director, Ogilvy
- Mr. Rommel Juan, Chairman and Lead Organizer, Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit and CEO, Philippine Utility Vehicle, Inc.

This year’s HFA expands to include four new categories: Automotive Column of the Year, Automotive Lifestyle Story of the Year, Automotive Technology Story of the Year, and Automotive Electric Vehicle (EV) Story of the Year. These additions bring the total number of regular categories to 10, including Automotive Vehicle Review of the Year (Article), Automotive Vehicle Review of the Year (Video), Automotive Industry Feature of the Year, Automotive Launch Story of the Year, Automotive Short Form Video of the Year, and Automotive Photograph of the Year.
The competition also features three Ford-specific categories: Ford Automotive Feature of the Year, Ford Automotive Video of the Year, and Ford Automotive Short-Form Video of the Year. Additionally, the prestigious Automotive Writer of the Year and Automotive Media Outlet of the Year awards will be presented to the journalist and outlet with the most HFA wins, respectively.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in April 2025.
