Vans, known as the Original Action Sports Brand deeply rooted in creative expression, has released another capsule collection for the year, focusing on purist culture and resonance.
They have recently launched the Vans X Sabotage, designed by renowned Asian artist Mark Ong.
Mark Ong, widely recognized as Mr. Sabotage, is a globally acclaimed sneaker customizer and the founder of his own streetwear brand, SBTG Surplus. Mark primarily employs sneakers as a medium to narrate stories and contribute to the community. He infused his passion for punk rock culture into the Vans Asian Artist Collection by enhancing the first release’s narrative with bone motifs, which embody the rebellious spirit of skate culture fused with punk influences.
To further elevate the design, he introduced a striking contrast of black and vibrant pink hues. The leather bone patch overlays on the toe of classic Authentic, creating a unique flavor with the clash of dark elements and a pink “Off The Wall” logo.
Here’s another fun fact that you probably didn’t know, he also hand-painted the artwork for Filipino punk rock band Chicosci’s Fly Black Hearts in 2009, keeping his punk roots alive across many parts of Asia.
This limited edition capsule is exclusively available at Vans Glorietta, Vans SM Megamall, Vans Ayala Center Cebu, and Vans SM City Clark with a limited pair release.
