Vans skateboarding’s Skate Classics Collection honors past, present, and future skateboarding icons

New takes on the Skate Half Cab and Skate Rowley bring together two generations of the world’s most progressive skateboarders.

Steve Caballero and Geoff Rowley are two of the most fearless progressives in skateboarding history. Their constant commitment to always pushing is still felt by today’s new generation of budding skate icons, so Vans Skateboarding has brought Caballero and Rowley together with nine of today’s foremost boundary-pushers for the journey to celebrate the Skate Half Cab and Skate Rowley, modernized iterations of two Vans Skateboarding icons.

The former, first released in 1992, is an “official” iteration of the cut-down OG Caballero that enterprising skaters would make with a pair of scissors and some duct tape, while the latter, first seen in 1999, is a slim, vulcanized silhouette that stood in stark contrast to the super-sized cupsole shoes of the era in which it released.

Joining Caballero and Rowley on the journey are Breana Geering, Daiki Hoshino, Zion Wright, Rome Collyer, Dick Rizzo, Curren Caples, Nelly Morville, Diego Todd, and Pedro Delfino, the last of whom is also receiving his own Skate Half Cab colorway. The two-part story sees Caballero and Rowley take the young guns to their personal favorite spots in California, encouraging them to evolve those spots’ legacy by displaying their own skill and creativity — writing a new chapter that will, in turn, push the next generation of skaters to further evolve on what’s already been accomplished.

Vans Skate Classics footwear features PopCush insoles, which offer maximum support, responsiveness, and impact protection, while reinforced Duracap rubber underlays increase durability, and SickStick outsoles serve up maximum grip and board feel. Both styles are done up in a mixture of black and purple with a jolt of energy supplied by hot pink accents.
