The 2024 Isuzu D-MAX gets much requested upgrades

Isuzu Philippines has recently unveiled the 2024 Isuzu D-MAX. It’s not an all-new model but a major facelift along with upgrades in its features. There’s also a new variant that’s apparently been requested by Isuzu’s customers for a while now. Pricing starts at PHP 938,000 for the single cab models while the double cab begins at PHP 1,178,000.

The front section of the D-MAX received the majority of the design changes for this iteration. There’s a new 3D front grille with a large mesh below the horizontal bars for the intake. Under the headlights is a new housing for the fog lights that has a functional air duct for better aerodynamics. There’s also a new roll bar accessory, redesigned 18-inch matte black alloy wheels, and a new ‘Triple Wing’ rear taillight design.

Inside, they adopted a ‘Miura’ theme for a clean and solid look. This is most apparent on the subtle patterns on the door panel and some of the finishing on the dashboard. Along with that are new toys like wireless charger, 7-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, and a new infotainment touchscreen in 10.1 and 9-inch sizes.

Safety was also upgraded. First, it now has a 360-camera system with the side cameras mounted on the joint and not the side mirror panel itself. The difference is you can now have a normal 360-view of your car even if you have the side mirrors folded, unlike with some of its rivals. There’s also a new camera system in the Gen4 SMART DUO Cam that has a better field of vision vertically and horizontally, improving the functionality of Advanced Driver Assist features reliant on the camera. It also received Rear Cross Traffic Brake, and a Digital Video Recorder.

Aside from the mentioned requested variant, another highly requested feature in the D-MAX is the Rear Locking Differential. Off-road fans will be glad to see that it’s now available in the mid-variant and up 4×4 variants of the D-MAX. They even added the new Rough Terrain Mode to satisfy the gnarly fanatics.

The Isuzu D-MAX is still powered by the 3-liter 4JJ3-TCX engine that produces 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. For the single cab 4×2 trims, they have the 1.9L RZ4E engine that makes 150 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque.

A new LS-E AT 4×2 model serves as new entry to the 4×2 segment of the Isuzu D-MAX. There’s also a new LS-A with 9-inch touchscreen, and an LS-A Plus that has the 10.1-inch touchscreen, 360-camera, and digital video recorder.

Below is the pricing of the new Isuzu D-MAX. It’s available in Namibu Orange, Biarritz Blue that’s exclusive for the LS-E trim. Other colors are Onyx Black, Islay Gray, Satin Pearl White, Splash White.
