When it comes to in-game cosmetics, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s knife skins are some of the most popular (and most expensive) out there. Anyone who plays CS knows that pulling out your knife skin is the biggest flex any player can do in the game.
However, not all knives are created equally. Others are a bit less appealing to the general player base (yes, I’m looking at you Navaja). But for the most part, a lot of the designs have unique features that players can get on board with based on their personal preference. And because we are celebrating 2ndOpinion PH’s 9th Anniversary and the release of Counter-Strike 2, I’ll be listing down my 9 favorite knives from the game.
9. Falchion Knife
This brings back a lot of memories. The Falchion Knife | Doppler was my first ever knife skin in the game. It’s a simple looking knife with a simple pull-out animation. But one of its major appeals is the rare quirky inspect animation that looks much cooler than the base one. That reason alone is why this knife sneaks into my list.
8. Ursus Knife
The Ursus is another basic knife on the outside. Despite that, it does look quite clean. Coupled with awesome and rare pull-out and inspect animations, this is an excellent choice for those who are looking for a solid knife, without having to break the bank.
7. Classic Knife
This design pays homage to Counter-Strike 1.6 as this is the default knife in that game. The pull-out and inspect animations are decent, but what makes the Classic Knife unique is the rare idle animation that happens randomly. Your character every now and then, would touch the tip of the knife which looks quite satisfying.
6. Talon Knife
Even though this knife is dubbed by a few as the poor man’s Karambit, I have to admit that it still looks pretty awesome in game. It has a bigger blade, and the rare inspect animation is one of my favorites in the game.
5. Bayonet
This is one of the cleanest knives in the game in my opinion, especially when it comes to both the design and the pull-out animation. The latter is quite satisfying especially if you’re spamming your Q key. It makes every quick switch to the AWP after a kill ever so gratifying.
4. M9 Bayonet
The M9 is the bigger brother of the Bayonet. The latter is already one of the cleanest knives in-game, but the M9 just looks even better. It has a bigger blade and a better looking handle with clean pull-out and inspect animations just like the Bayonet.
3. Skeleton Knife
This knife is quite unique in that it has a big gaping hole right smack in the middle. But it works really well though as it adds something different to the inspect animation. To top it all off, the Skeleton also has a cool rare pull-out animation that make this knife one of a kind (and expensive).
2. Karambit
This is without a doubt, one of the most popular knives of all time in CS. A few can debate between number one and the Karambit, but you can’t go wrong either way. This knife just looks incredible – from the design down to every single animation. I personally owned a Karambit way back when. I was fortunate enough to have used it in several finishes (Tiger Tooth, Doppler and Fade to be exact).
1. Butterfly Knife
The Balisong – the most coveted and most expensive knife in the game. I don’t think many can argue that the Butterfly Knife is the god-tier knife in Counter-Strike. Every single animation is satisfying. To own one is a flex unlike any other in the world of CS. Again, I was quite fortunate to be able to own one and test out various finishes back then (Tiger Tooth, Doppler and Fade yet again).
