Oppo is set to launch the Reno3 series in the country on March 19 through a local livestream event. Its 5G variant was already launched last year in China and India but Oppo has confirmed that only 4G variants of the Reno3 and Reno3 Pro will be coming to the Philippines. The Pro version holds a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset while the Reno 3 is the first smartphone to hold MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1,000L system on chip.
The Reno series has always focused on its photography and videography capabilities and the Reno3 claims to deliver a clearer and crisper photo in every shot, under all kinds of lighting context. The Reno3 comes with a quad camera set up comprising of a 48MP ultra-clear main camera while the Reno3 Pro sports a 64MP ultra-clear main camera. Both are said to be able to deliver photos up to 108MP using AI software to enhance the image. Its AI-powered Ultra Dark Mode is also significantly increased from Reno2, making photo-taking in dim light much easier and more compelling, ensuring that even in low light setting, you can capture photos in full quality.
Up front, it’s interesting to see the punch hole format (and fitting two front cameras for the Reno3 Pro) as Oppo had previously used an elevating camera for both the Reno and Reno2 series. Both hold a 44MP Ultra Clear front camera and the Reno3 Pro gets an additional 2MP depth of field lens for portrait shots.
The China and India versions come with an 8GB + 128GB or 12GB + 256GB version and in four colors—Black, White, Starry Night Blue, and Sunrise.
