It’s been a year in this pandemic and everyone still continues to adapt to the “work from home” and “digital/distance learning” to stay safe. With family members staying at home and multiple devices connected to one WiFi, this can bog down the speed of the Internet and hence one’s productivity. Luckily, Huawei has launched their new Huawei WiFi AX3 router.
1. Connecting cables
Connect an ethernet cable from the WAN port of the Huawei WiFi AX3 to a LAN port on the old router, then power on the Huawei WiFi AX3.
2. Connect your device
Connect your computer to a LAN port on the WiFi AX3, or connect it wirelessly to the router’s WiFi network. Then, open an Internet browser and enter 192.168.3.1 in the browser address bar to log on to the web-based management page.
3. Connect to the internet
Enter the Connect to Internet page and select Bridge (AP) in Internet Access Mode, then click save.
*If this is the first time you have configured the Huawei WiFi AX3, you need to complete the Internet connection wizard before you can enter the Connect to Internet page. In the Internet connection wizard, your router may detect whether the Internet access mode is PPPoE or DHCP. You can then select Skip and change the Internet Access Mode to Bridge Mode in Connect to Internet afterwards.
4. Enjoy your stable connection
You can now use the WiFi AX3 as a wireless switch, and your phones, tablets, and laptops can be connected to its WiFi network.
*Your router will automatically toggle off the DHCP service switch when you enable Bridge Mode.
The Huawei WiFi AX3 also has several uses as well. First, it acts as a main router connected to your modem boosting internet speed from traditional routers that can support multiple devices. Second, it can act as a WiFi extender and booster which increases your connection speed and provides quicker internet access, especially useful for large homes or office spaces.
