Huawei has unveiled their newest lineup for their MateBook Series—the MateBook D14. Made for the younger generation, it features a FullView Display in a compact body and ultra-slim design to make it easier to bring when on the go. It offers great performance for home and office work, with the ability to run multiple apps simultaneously.
The Huawei MateBook D14 is equipped with a 14″ 1080p FHD IPS screen with an anti-glare protection to deliver an immersive experience. It also offers a borderless screen with its 84% screen-to-body ratio. This was made possible as Huawei removed the webcam from the bezel and integrated it into the keyboard, providing better privacy.
Huawei chose a high-strength aluminum alloy for the chassis with dimensions of only 322.5mm x214.8mm x15.9mm, weighing only 1.38kg. It can also open up to 178°.
Huawei’s system design and optimization capabilities enable it to maximize the fullest potential of its products’ CPUs and GPUs. The MateBook D14 has two variants, equipped with an AMD Ryzen 5 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor with a RadeonTM Vega 8 Graphics. It has an 8GB of dual-channel DDR4 memory and a PCIe SSD.
It sports a 56Wh battery which is said to last up to 9.5 hours of video playback, 9.4 hours surfing the internet, and 10 hours to perform daily tasks. Compared to its predecessor, the charger is made much more portable. It can be used to charge other Huawei smartphones and tablets that are equipped with a USB-C port.
However, it comes with a different plug — the BS 1363/type G/UK plug with a retractable center pin.
It also has different ports in its slim body— USB -C port,USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, and 3.5mm auxiliary port.
The MateBook D14 features Huawei Share which provides a Multi-screen Collaboration supported by Huawei’s smartphones and laptops. The file transfer feature lets users easily view, edit and send files, images and documents on both smartphones and laptop by just dragging and dropping files. This can be easily done by just tapping your Android phone on the laptop.
The Multi-screen Collaboration lets Windows gain access to the rich Android ecosystem. On the other hand, the Android side gains access to powerful and professional apps. In this mode, the two operating systems run in their own instance while synergizing with one another, integrating with one another to provide users with the best productivity experience.
